Early in his career with Lyra (the largest family of MSPs on the planet), one of our co-founders Jake was viewing the now popular “pick-two” Venn Diagram, and he had an epiphany. Lyra was uniquely positioned to do ransomware and data breach recovery and remediation work better than anyone else.

How? If we add the right team and process to our existing infrastructure, we become the unicorn:

1. Good: Recovery work is mostly infrastructure and end-point work, which is what our techs do all day

2. Fast: Our 120 locations and 3,000 techs spread out across the globe can respond and get anywhere faster than anyone

3. Inexpensive: Unlike other recovery companies (1) our techs are our own employees, so we don’t have to mark-up 3rd party contractors to do the work and (2) our techs are usually utilized on scheduled services and project work so there is no downtime where we have to pay people to sit on the bench. We can pass those savings to our partners and customers.

But Jake was lacking one ingredient, expertise and decades of experience in the cyber insurance, incident response, and recovery industry. He quickly hired two industry stars, Shawn Melito and Brent Riley, and Lyra Recovery was born!

Shawn Melito

CEO, Co-Founder

Shawn has spent the last 16 years building breach response companies in the cyber insurance industry, working with forensic firms, breach coaches and insurance professionals to create and supply only the best services in the industry. Previously roles include Chief Revenue Officer for BreachQuest, Managing Director for Kivu Consulting, Management Consultant for NPC’s Data Breach Response group and Director in Kroll’s Toronto office. Other relevant prior work experience includes Healthcare, Insurance Services and a contract with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Shawn is a certified information privacy professional (CIPP/US) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and previous member of their Canadian Advisory Board. He has chaired multiple cyber insurance industry conferences and presented on the topics of breach response, data security and recovery and remediation at NetDiligence, IAPP, RIMS, Zywave, ACFE, CLE and PLUS events.

Brent Riley

COO, Co-Founder

Brent specializes in incident response, digital forensics, and cybersecurity with 12 years of law enforcement and over eight years of digital forensics and cybercrime investigatory experience. Prior to joining Lyra Recovery, Brent was a Managing Director at Ankura, a Special Agent with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation’s cyber crimes unit, where he assisted local, state, and federal agencies with digital forensics, legal process production, field investigations, and expert witness testimony.

Earlier in his career, Brent was a detective with the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office in Virginia where he ran their digital forensics lab and regularly testified in court, including as an expert witness.

Jake Gregorich

Jake oversees revenue generation for Lyra Technology Group, the parent company of Lyra Recovery which manages the largest family of MSPs in the world. He serves as the Chairman and Board Lead of Lyra Recovery, ensuring the team is provided with the resources and access to Lyra’s infrastructure they need to be successful.

Luke Green

Vice President of Operations

Luke Green is a cybersecurity professional who has assisted organizations with over 3,000 incidents. His expertise in privacy law and knowledge of cyber insurance ensures a seamless process when coordinating with impacted organizations, privacy counsel, forensics teams, and insurance carriers.
